Morris E. Tilden, MD - Longmont Refractive SurgeonDr. Tilden is a Board Certified and fellowship trained specialist in corneal surgery, external eye diseases, and refractive surgical techniques. As one of the few fellowship trained corneal and refractive surgical specialist in Northern Colorado, Dr. Tilden brings advanced diagnostic and surgical expertise to the Front Range.

As the director of the Laser Refractive Surgery Center and a national trainer for laser vision correction, Dr. Tilden is Northern Colorado's most experienced specialist in laser vision correction and is the only physician in this part of the state who is performing all of the available procedures to reduce or eliminate the dependency on glasses or contact lenses. Including LASIK, PRK, Intacs, RK, AK, ALK, etc. Approximately 70 million Americans are near-sighted, and refractive surgery has benefited more than 1 million people to date by increasing their quality of life without corrective lenses.

Dr. Tilden trained at one of the largest and most respected cornea and refractive surgery practices in the country, where he gained experience in the diagnosis and treatment of corneal and external eye diseases, as well as glaucoma and other diseases of the front part of the eye. He also completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in uveitis and inflammatory conditions of the eye. Dr. Tilden also has extensive experience in corneal surgery, including all types of refractive surgery, corneal transplantations, ocular trauma, complicated glaucoma surgery, and repair of complications from previous cataract surgery.

Colorado Refractive SurgeryA native of California, Dr. Tilden graduated from CU-Boulder with a degree in Molecular Biology. After spending 4 years doing research at the CU Medical Center, he graduated from Creighton University Medical School with high honors. He then completed an Internal Medicine internship at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. Dr. Tilden then completed an Ophthalmology residency at Cornell University Medical Center/New York Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident his final year. Following this, he spent a year as a cornea, refractive surgery, and anterior segment fellow at Corneal Consultants of Indiana in Indianapolis, one of the largest and busiest corneal centers in the country. After completing his fellowship, in 1995 Dr. Tilden and his family relocated back to Colorado to join the Eye Care Center in Longmont as the Director of the Cornea and Refractive Surgery service.

He and his wife reside in Longmont with their three children. They enjoy skiing, water sports, traveling, flying, golf, running, tennis, and instrumental music.
