What is LASIK?
LASIK is a brief outpatient microsurgical procedure that reduces the amount of nearsightedness, farsightedness, and/or astigmatism by flattening or steepening the cornea of your eye.
Before the advent of LASIK, if you were one of the millions of people who had nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, you had to wear glasses or contact lenses. Now you can eliminate or greatly reduce your dependence on glasses or contact lenses with LASIK.
